  • TV, the great evil

Last year, I had a lot of my Philippines family staying at my house. Being courteous, I let them use the big TV downstairs so that my auntie could watch CSI, Dancing with the Stars, AI, etc. On one hand, I didn't always get to watch my shows (though I usually went upstairs to watch Lost or Heroes) but on the other hand, I concentrated on school and my video work.

Fast foward a year, I still have family at my house, but some have moved out, meaning that I have control over the remote. I have found this to be VERY BAD. I get home, and all I want to do is veg out. I eat dinner, then kick it and watch whatever is on. I am discovering that there is always something to watch, some better than others. In terms of school, I don't focus as much but I still get the grades, but I could be getting more out of it. In terms of videos and other stuff, I am severely lagging. I have quite a bit of editing to do for my wedding stuff that I haven't gotten to. I also have a PCN coming up that will require editing.

So, what shall I do? I think I need to put the TV shows on the side..so sorry Lost, Heroes, Deadliest Catch, House, AI, Fringe and whatever I used to watch on Thursdays, Chris has some work to do...

  • Since I have very little must watch shows (sporting events, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother), I usually don't spend too much time watching anything on TV anymore. However, I did find something helpful when I lot of my other favorite shows were still on the air. If you don't have a DVR, get one if you have the means to do it. In addition to watching shows when you have free time, it saves so much time to fast forward through commercials. Maybe you're already doing that. Good luck.
