One Busy Weekend
No pics for this blog..maybe some video in the future.
So this past weekend was crazy busy!
On Saturday, my sister and bro-in-law were attending a wedding from about 3:30pm-10pm. Not too shocking, except that they have a 1-month old baby girl at home! Normally my parents would look after the baby, but they too had a party to attend from about 2pm - ?? So guess who's taking care of the baby for like 6 hours??? That's right ME! I thought I might have Eye's assistance, but it was bachelorette weekend for Annette..so I was all by my lonesome self with the baby.
The baby and I had a pretty good time, she slept most of the time, but when she was awake..man..that was an experience. I think I changed her 5 times, and I changed her fit once (projectile pee). I also fed her THREE TIME..talk about hungry. In the end I laid her on my shoulder and put her to sleep, but i was sure hungry at the end.
Yesterday Moonyoz and I were the videographers for the Kinney-Cease wedding in Santa Cruz. The bride is a really good friend of Mark Quijano and Mark referred us to them. So thank you Mark for the referral! It was a really nice wedding at a place called Chaminade. It was an interesting change of pace from the normal PCN, but it was 10 times harder than filming a PCN. Our day started at 8am leaving Vallejo, we got to the place at about 1230pm after stopping for a quick bite. We got into the room and did not have much to do since the photographers were there. Moon shot most of the brial prep stuff, but I think we were at a disadvantage that we didn't have a lady videographer. The photographers had three people, a guy a girl and an assistance (guy). The girl was shooting the bridal prep stuff but since the bride was actually changing, I don't think Moon was able to get in there.
I followed the groom around and got some exterior shots. The first thing I learned, leave your stuff in one place then go back and get it. I was carrying my camera bag on my shoulder since I did not know where I would be. I could have left that thing in the room where Moon was. The second thing I learned/figured out: dragging a tripod everywhere sucks. I want really steady shots so I had my tripod (which is fairly heavy). I think I need to get a shoulder system and just leave the tripod in one spot, a nice steadicam would be bad ass.
I won't go into everything, but the things Moon and I worked on or learned was camera placement, wireless microphones and attaching lapels, using the wireless mic system to grab audio from a mixer, shooting on a cloudy day with a bright blue background.
Cool things about the wedding include the photobooth, the sports theme intros and pom-poms, and the "live feed." The bride's mother was in the hospital after having a surgery so she could not attend. I believe Mark setup a laptop in the hospital and used Yahoo messenger to stream video. A few people were tasked with bringing the laptop and camera around for people to say hi and for the mother to see the event. That was a very, very cool and touching thing that they were able to do.
So that's it for now, oops, did I mention I have a 3-4000 word paper due today? I'm almost done though..have to get back to writing it now. Later!

Glad you had fun. Random thought: Everyone here is all mad crazy about UAAP basketball (the top college basketball league in the Philippines), and they were all talking about Ateneo and De La Salle all the time. One guy on Ateneo has the name of Chris Tiu (pronounced like "chew"). Everytime someone brought up his name (and it's a lot of times), I kept thinking, "Isn't there an 'ah' aound missing at the end of his name?" I don't care how famous he is over here, he can't touch you, man.
i had hella fun at the wedding too! sorry about the confusion on your seating arrangements!! i placed all of you (videographers & photographers) at tables, but the coordinator from chaminade got confused =( ... anyways, hope to see you around more often (like maybe before you get married haha)
@ARoNyMoUs - All good dude, as long as I had something to eat I was fine! We definitely need to hang out soon, outside of any wedding related ish!
who's gonna film your wedding?!
